SDG 15 - Life on Land

Mon, 19 Apr 2021
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Human life depends on the earth as much as the ocean, with1.6 Billion people relying on forests for their livelihoods. Forests cover 30 percent of the Earth’s surface, are important sources for clean air and water, as well as being crucial for combating climate change.
Sustainable Development Goal 15 is titled Life on Land, highlighting the critical importance of the sustainable management of our terrestrial ecosystems.
Following the devastating Black Summer bushfires in Australia, effective management and mitigation of the impacts of fire on our forests has become an area of increased interest and concern.

Hear from ANU Professor David Lindenmayer, a world-leading expert in forest ecology and resource management on the importance of managing the impacts of fire.
